Synopsis From the Introduction,

This volume of Pitkin Papers forms the ninth issued by this society containing an unbroken series of the correspondence and papers, chiefly of an official nature of the governors of the Colony of Connecticut from October 1724 to to October 1769. The short period of three and one half years covered by this volume includes the time when the American colonies, by there united spirit of opposition to the Stamp Act and other acts relating to taxation which they considered oppresive to their constitutional liberties, were able, with the aid of their supporters in Parliament, to alter to some extent the proposed course of British legislation
